If there is anything in the world that I love more than flowers, it’s food. A beautiful dance occurs on the holiday table when gorgeous flowers are intertwined with classic family recipes of food made with love.
Flowers Talk Tivoli is lucky that we are able to take part in so many different holiday traditions. This weekend marks the beginning of Chanukah. We are happy and proud to team up with the longtime customer, Cindy Feingold and her amazingly delicious food blog, Salt & Serenity.
“I made these doughnuts for our Chanukah celebration. It is traditional to eat foods fried in oil to commemorate the miracle of the oil that burned in the temple in Jerusalem for eight days, although the supply appeared to be enough only for a single day. In Israel, it is traditional to eat jelly-filled doughnuts to celebrate Chanukah. My twist is to fill them with a tangy pomegranate curd. If you can’t be bothered to make the curd, whip up a quick glaze with icing sugar and pomegranate juice.

When the lovely Cindy tells you that she is creating raspberry coloured curd to fill gold flecked pink donuts, you bring your prettiest pink blooms.
These garden roses were the perfect complement to the skimmia, Arachna orchids, magnolia greens, and blue thistle.

…if there is anything that I love more than flowers and food, it is anything pink!

Happy Chanukah!
