Homes for the Holidays 2024
For the past 22 years, we’ve had the honour of participating in Homes for the Holidays in support of Hospice Care Ottawa.
This event has become a tradition that our team looks forward to every year, marking the start of the holiday season for us.
Creating stunning floral arrangements and festive decor for this meaningful cause fills us with pride and joy, as we help bring the magic of the season into beautifully styled homes while supporting an organization that provides invaluable care and comfort to our community.
As the holiday season approaches, nothing transforms a space quite like thoughtfully curated decor and bespoke floral arrangements. At Flowers Talk Tivoli, we believe in creating more than just arrangements—we craft experiences that capture the warmth, magic, and elegance of the holidays.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our most recent creations, designed to inspire your festive celebrations.
A Grand Entrance to Warm Hearts
We started with a show-stopping entryway piece to set the tone for the season.
We use a mix of fresh winter greenery including Douglas fir, Carolina sapphire, BC cedar, magnolia, Ontario pine, and oregonia with rosehips, pinecones and birch sapling.
This arrangement radiates a warm welcome, perfect for greeting guests at your next holiday gathering.
Cozy Corners That Shine
We believe every nook and cranny deserves a touch of holiday cheer. For side tables and shelves, we crafted petite arrangements in festive vessels.
These featured:
- Pincone candles in snowy white or evergreen for a modern twist on tradition.
- Winter greenery cascading gracefully from glossy, gold containers.
- Holiday plants tucked in corners to add a festive touch.
The Dining Table: A Holiday Feast for the Eyes
For the dining table, we created a mix of low vessels that balances beauty and practicality, allowing conversation to flow effortlessly. This arrangement features:
- White ranunculas and red rosehips for a classic holiday palette.
- Fresh cedar, box and eucalyptus for texture and fragrance.
- Subtle glimmers of metallic gold throughout
Accented by tall taper candles in clear glass holders, this centerpiece brings warmth and intimacy to the dining experience, making every meal feel like a special occasion.
Festive Finishing Touches
To complete the look, we layered the space with complementary details:
- Walnut, clementines, and dried fruit, exuding subtle holiday scents with cinnamon and clove.
- Seasonal accents like within locally sourced antique pieces such as copper pots, wooden dough bowls and old toolboxes.
- Greenery adorning the chandeliers in the dining room and eating area.
This year, we were honored to contribute our designs to Homes for the Holidays in support of Hospice Care Ottawa. This cherished annual event not only showcases the beauty of holiday decor but also raises vital funds to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support for individuals and families in our community.
We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful initiative and to share the joy and spirit of the season while supporting an incredible cause.
