The development of fenestrations happens slowly, and the number of splits on each leaf will increase over time. So, if you’ve just brought home a small Monstera and are eagerly awaiting those first split leaves, embrace the art of patience! Good things come to those who wait. 💚⏳
However, if your Monstera has been with you for a while and you’re still not seeing any split leaves, it may be a sign that it’s not receiving enough light. Monsteras thrive in bright, indirect light as they mature. Insufficient light can hinder the growth of fenestrations, causing the plant to conserve energy by producing small leaves instead.
