6″ Peacock Moss Fern Hanging Basket

Peacock moss might be the most delicate looking plant in the shop, and it’s every bit as pretty as it sounds. Selaginella forms soft, feathery fronds with an iridescent blue-green shimmer, almost like a plant version of a peacock feather. This 6″ hanging basket is a total showpiece for a bathroom, terrarium shelf, or anywhere it can get a little extra humidity.

It’s technically a moss relative rather than a true fern, and it’s fussier about dry air than most of the ferns we carry, so a little extra attention up front goes a long way.

Care

Give it low to medium indirect light. It doesn’t want any direct sun, those delicate fronds scorch easily.

Keep the soil consistently moist, this one doesn’t like to dry out. Humidity is the big one here: peacock moss wants noticeably higher humidity than typical ferns, so a bathroom, terrarium, or regular misting really helps it thrive.

Non-toxic and pet safe, so it’s a lovely pick even with curious cats and dogs around.

Ferns love humidity! Keep your new plant happy with a plant mister.
