6″ String of Pearls in Hanging Basket

String of Pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) is the original: the classic trailing succulent everyone pictures, with tiny round, bead-like leaves strung along thin trailing stems like a strand of green pearls. This 6″ hanging basket comes ready to go, already full and trailing, so you can hang it up and let it keep growing from day one.

It’s a striking statement piece for a bright window, a plant shelf, or anywhere those long strands have room to spill and grow. Once it’s happy, it grows fast, and older strands can reach impressive lengths.

Care

Light: Bright light is a must, including a few hours of direct sun. Without it, the pearls stay small and the strands get sparse and stretched out.

Water: Let the soil dry out completely, then water deeply. This one is prone to rot if it’s kept too wet, so when in doubt, wait a few extra days before watering again.

Humidity: Average room humidity is perfectly fine: good air flow matters more than humidity here.

Pets: Mildly toxic to cats and dogs if ingested (it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids that can cause GI upset), so hang it well out of reach of curious pets.
