The African Violet is a classic flowering houseplant, with soft, velvety leaves and clusters of ruffled blooms that come in shades of purple, pink and white. Colours can vary slightly from plant to plant.

Care: Bright, indirect light is best, direct sun can scorch the fuzzy leaves. Water from the bottom by setting the pot in a shallow dish of water for a few minutes, this avoids the leaf spotting that comes from getting water on the foliage. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings.

Good news for pet owners: African Violets are considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
